Kikisan is a collection of jewelry inspired from vintage decor motifs and botanical forms in everyday life: vintage prints, textiles, architectural embellishments, beauty in nature and our surroundings.

I design and create my jewelry in my studio. My pieces are individually handmade from the beginning of my production process when my designs are initially sketched onto paper through to completion when the finished pieces are hand-polished. My jewelry is made only with high quality solid sterling silver materials and gemstones. I believe in maintaining high quality workmanship and also having a personal touch in the pieces I make; no two are exactly alike.

Originally from Japan, I completed my BFA in Fine Art Sculpture in San Francisco and subsequently worked as a jewelry metalsmith for another company for over ten years. During this time, I developed hands-on techniques and an eye for detail which became valuable to me when opening my Etsy shop. Initially, I started selling my sterling silver jewelry on Etsy in 2010. After the tragic 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami, I wanted to help those in need in my home country and I decided to design new sterling silver pieces and donate the proceeds of all sales to a non-profit organization dedicated to disaster relief in Japan. I quickly sold numerous pieces and was happy to contribute nearly $1,000.00 towards my goal. For those pieces, I developed a special texturing technique to transfer my designs onto sterling silver - that was a turning point for my shop. Since then, I've refined my technique which has enabled me to come up with more intricate designs, all handmade in my studio.
